Asus Memo Pad HD7 Up For US Pre-Orders, Shipping Starts August 9 for $150

For most tech lovers, there’s probably only one Asus-made tablet that counts – the newly unveiled second-gen Google co-branded Nexus 7. And while that thing comes with fantastic value for money, not everyone wants or can afford to drop 230 bucks on a 7-inch slate.
But even if that’s the case, you shouldn’t go far from Asus to look for your ideal tab. The company has a little guy called Memo Pad 7 that costs a mere $110 via retailers like Amazonnowadays, plus it’s getting ready to put the Memo Pad HD7 up for grabs.
The latter is set to cost a slightly less affordable but still very fair $149. GamestopNewegg and Amazonare just a few of the online sellers that already accept pre-orders for the HD slate, with shipments slated for a start in less than two weeks.
Specifically, if you choose to do business with Gamestop, your orders should be fulfilled on August 9, Newegg says to expect the Memo Pad HD7 one day later, whereas Amazon will take another extra day to make sure it’s ready for you.
As color choices, all three retailers have blue, white and pink tabs available, while Newegg also has a special green coated 7-incher waiting. The specs are of course the same across the board, including things like a quad-core 1.2 GHz MediaTek CPU, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 1,280 x 800 pix res screen, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, 5 MP rear cam and microSD support. Not bad for 150 bucks, am I right?
